Pawan Kalyan, Vishnuvardan film on sets from March!

It is known that Pawan Kalyan has signed a film under the kollywood director Vishnuvardhan. Now, the movie is all set to move to floors from the month of March. Sanghamitra Arts and Arca Media Works will jointly produce this film.

The producers of the film, Shobu and Neelima released a press note which says, “The script has already been finalized for the film, which is going to be stylish action entertainer and it has two heroines. A newcomer has already been selected as one of the heroine."

The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, dialogues by Abburi Ravi and cinematography by PS Vinod.

Ram Gopal Varma is one man who is known for his point blank statements and though his frankness is appreciated, there are times when his lines tend to get over the line. It is heard that recently he passed a comment on Pawan Kalyan's new banner 'Pawan Kalyan Creative Works' and asked how it can be creative when Pawan is doing a remake.
Now, it is heard that the power star will be replying to this in his own way. Well, he is reportedly coming up with a new movie which is more in an experimental genre and it will not have any songs. Sources close to Pawan reveal that this would define the word 'creative' in his banner and will also answer the criticisms. KSD Appalraju postponed to 10th February!

Ram Gopal Varma’s directorial Katha Screenplay Darsakathvam Appalaraju, which was slated for a release on 4^th February, is yet again postponed to 10^th February. The postponement is due to the delay in post-production works as well as the release of Jai Bolo Telangana. Though KSDA also is a hottest project and has enough attention, Varma wisely took this decision as Jai Bolo Telangana grabs much attention in the Nizam area.

However, KSDA will now lock horns with Nagarjuna starrer Gaganam, releasing on 11^thFebruary. KSD Appalraju casts Sunil, Swathi, and Sakshi in the key roles. The movie is made with the hard hitting satires on film industry celebrities and media persons. KSDA has music by Koti and cinematography by Sudhakar Yakkanti

Venkatesh as captain for Tollywood CCL

The film stars from various film industries are set to play cricket soon named as the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) similar to IPL. In this league of CCL, star cricketers from all the industries will take part. The teams are titled as Bollywood (Mumbai Heroes), Tollywood (Telugu Tigers), Sandalwood (Bangalore Stars) and Kollywood (Tamil Superstars). During the CCL six league matches will be conducted and one final, which will take off in January. The final winning team will receive 25 lakhs as the prize money.

Manchu Vishnu owns the team while Venkatesh is the captain for Tollywood cricket team. Samantha and Tapsee are selected as brand ambassadors for the Tollywood team. Salman khan and Surya are the captains for Bollywood and Kollywood CCL teams respectively.

Vasthadu Naa Raju postponed?

Manchu Vishnuvardhan starrer Vasthadu Naa Raju which is set for a release on 4^thFebruary might postpone to 11^th February. The film hasn’t yet completed its post-production works and actor Prakash Raj is yet to complete the dubbing part for his role. It would be a tricky task for the film-makers to release on 4^th February.

Vasthadu Naa Raju is being produced by Manchu Vishnu himself on the banner 24 Frames Factory and it marks the first directorial debut for Hemanth Madhukar in tollywood. Tapsee is playing the female lead in the film. The film-makers say that the film had good number of scenes on Vishnu and Brahmanandam which reminds us of Dhee film.

Devisri Prasad to score music for Gabbar Singh

Pawan Kalyan and director Harish Shankar are currently busy in finalizing the cast and crew of their new film Gabbar Singh, which is the remake of Bollywood’s blockbuster Dabangg.

Music played an important role in Dabangg’s success. Sajid- Wajid, who was the music director for the original version received many awards and has reached the top position. And the item number Munni Badnaam Huee composed by Lalit Pandit resulted as a smash hit of 2010. Now, for the Telugu version of the film, Devisri Prasad is finalized as music director. Devi has earlier created magic by scoring peppy music for Pawan Kalyan starrer Jalsa. However, it would be a challenge for DSP now, to match his music to the original version and reach the expectations of Power Star’s fans.

Let’s wait to see if Devi Sri Prasad recreates the magic for Pawan Kalyan yet again.

Siddharth’s 180 set for summer release!

Siddharth is currently busy in wrapping up the shooting of his forthcoming project titled 180. 180 is a bilingual flick being shot in Telugu and Tamil versions.

Being directed by famous ad filmmaker Jayendra, 180 is touted as a different triangular love story. The movie was earlier shot in the exotic locales of USA and Malaysia. Right now, the final schedule of shoot is being carried out.

Priya Anand and Nithya Menon are playing the roles of Siddharth’s love interest in the film. Cinematographer K.T. Bala Subramaniam captured the visual effects by using Red camera, which are going to be eye-catching. Sharath is debuting as music composer with 180. The film is jointly produced by SPI Cinemas and Aghal Films.

Krishna Vamsi, Gopichand film titled Mogudu

It is known that Gopichand is all set to act under the direction of Krishnavamsi. Now the latest news is that the film has been titled as Mogudu. Though Krishnavamsi has other projects with Nagarjuna and Ram Charan, as of now, he is taking Gopichand’s movie to floors.

The movie is being produced by Nallamalapu Bujji and the film-makers are currently finalizing the rest of the cast and crew of the film. The regular shooting of Mogudu will start from March. Gopichand’s Wanted has recently hit the big-screens but has failed to impress the audience. Let’s see if Gopichand scores a hit with Mogudu

Mahesh Dookudu next schedule in Gujarat

Mahesh starrer Dookudu under the direction of Srinu Vaitla has completed its current schedule at Hyderabad. The next schedule of the film will commence from 1^st February at Gujarat. Earlier Dookudu has completed its schedules at Hyderabad, Turkey and Malaysia.

Samantha is pairing opposite Mahesh in the film. Being produced by Anil Sunkara under the banner 14 Reels entertainment, the film has music by Thaman. After Dookudu gets wrapped up, Mahesh will join the sets of Puri Jagannath’s film titled The Business Man.

Despite both of them, Gopichand and raviteja being mass heroes; it is Gopi struggling for a hit while raviteja is on a success journey from last one year. A commonality between both of them is that, they select only the regular beaten stories and it is left for director to etch their characters innovatively including the action packed narration. Gopichand’s ‘Wanted’ and raviteja 'Mirapakaya’ are run of the mill stories but latter succeeded and earlier one failed. Apparently a reason is that Mass Maharaj continuously pumps high energy levels into the movie while Gopichand failed to sustain the same. Never the less, both of them arrived at a stage of career where definitely a change in their movie selection process is needed else disasters are to invade them with in this year. Let us see, how they escape this dangerous trap!

Sexy Sisters @ Gabbar Singh's Office

Despite of the flops he made, the craze for him is unstoppable. Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is said to be having a power that can mesmerize his fans with the moves he makes. Latest 'Gabbar Singh' announcement is the best example for this. Not only his fans, but hot heroines are also craving for him.
According to reports, scorching hot siren Kajal Agarwal and her one movie wonder sister Nisha are repeatedly meeting PK for that heroine role. Pawan may offer the lead role to Kajal, but her sister won't be able to score any place in this movie, directed by Harish Shankar. Sources revealed that Nisha is trying to bag the role of Gabbar Singh brother's love interest role. Let us wait and see, whether their attempts will work out to woo Pawan or if any other bomb flees with that golden chance.

Wanted Movie Review

Gopichand has stuck to his genre of movies and has managed to carve a niche for himself as an action hero. His equation with his female costars has earned him some fan following amongst girls too. It will be interesting to see if he has tried anything different with Wanted, his first movie this year.

What’s it about: Rambabu (Gopichand) is a happy go lucky chap who does nothing for career, and doesn’t mind a ‘fight’ for the heck of it. Inspite of this, his parents love him completely because they think they have earned enough for him. Rambabu comes across Nandini (Deeksha Seth), a house surgeon. When the girl saves his mom’s life, Rambabu falls for her and chases her. After almost following her everywhere, saving her from goons few times, Rambabu gets frustratedand asks her what she wants him to do to prove his love for her. The girl asks him to kill Basava Raju (Prakash Raj) and company, as a revenge for killing her honest cop father (Nazar) and her entire family. Rambabu goes after the goons and kills them one by one.
What is Good: The first half of the movie has some interesting elements of narrative style. The director chooses to tell the story showing three different characters – Rambabu, Nandini and Basava Raju, and joins them all towards the end of first half. Gopichand is good in action scenes, though he has to get his comedy timing right. Deeksha Seth has a lengthy role compared to her two previous films and she looks cute in mostly traditional dresses. Prakash Raj, Nazar, Subba Raju, Ahutri Prasad, RK etc. do what they do in most other films too. Brahmanandam generates few laughs, and so does Ali in a short stint. The movie is interlaced with some laughable comedy situations which come from Jayasudha and Chandramohan. They bring all their experience to make some extremely cinematic situations truly laughable. Otherwise the story is a typical revenge saga, which starts off differently, focuses on the love story and then leads to action sequences.
What is bad: Cliche works to an extent. Almost every story we see has already been told, but it is the presentation that gives it a different feel. This is exactly where the second half of Wanted fails. Even though the writer wanted to add depth to Deeksha’s character by showing her at strange places with stranger men, we never know what she was doing there with them! The flashback episode, which was used to reason her character, focuses more on gore than on some originally done content! As a result we have a family killed in most inventive ways possible minus the emotions that such a loss can bring. Once we know the flashback anything after it becomes lengthy and the movie still takes few songs and fight sequences to come to an end.
Technical Departments: : Cinematography is just about good, though the songs have been shot decently well. Chakri’s music for the songs is good too, but he should do something more to accentuate emotional scenes in a movie. Dialogues are funny when required, but end up being too loud in ‘drama’ situations and too contrived sometimes. Editing is too sloppy and the actions sequences are too long to be digestible. Final Point: Wanted is a predictable revenge saga, that doesn’t have anything really exciting. It is only for Gopichand’s fans.Others watch it at your own risk.

ANR gets Padma Vibhushan



Dr A Nageshwara Rao and Palle Rama Rao were conferred with the Padma Vibhushan while Dr K Anji Reddy, Dr Gunapati VenkataKrishna Reddy were named as recipients of the Padma Bhushan and VangipurapuVenkata Sai Laxman or Very Very Special Laxman and shooter Gagan Narang from Andhra Pradesh were among the eminent personalities named for the Padma Shri awards on Tuesday. Their names were approved by the President of India for the conferment of Padma Awards-2010. This year the President approved 128 awards including one duo case (counted as one) and 12 in the category of Foreigners/ NRIs/ PIOs/ Posthumous. These comprise 13 Padma Vibhushan, 31 Padma Bhushan and 84 Padma Shri Awards. There are 31 ladies among the awardees. Apart from the above named, film actress Tabassum Hashmi Khan or Tabu as she is more popularly known was also named as the recipient of the Padma Shri, but she was counted as a resident of Maharashtra. Also figuring in the list of Padma Shri awardees were Gajam Govardhana, Prof EA Siddiq, Narayan Singh Bhati, Prof PullellaSrirama Chandrudu and Prof KoneruRamakrishna Rao. Padma Awards, the country’s highest civilian awards, are conferred in three categories, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The Awards are given in all disciplines/ fields of activities such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc. ‘Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service; ‘Padma Bhushan’ for distinguished service of high order and ‘Padma Shri’ for distinguished service in any field. The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year and are conferred by the President of India at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhawan sometime around March/ April.

Veera, biggest budget film in Ravi Teja’s career!

Ravi Teja starrer Veera is said to be the biggest budget film of his career till date. Veera is a full-fledged commercial mass entertainer, where Ravi Teja is playing a dual shaded role.

Being directed by Ramesh Varma and produced by Ganesh Indukuri under the banner Sanvi Productions, Veera has two sizzling beauties Kajal Agarwal and Tapsee. While Kajal is playing a full-length mass role, Tapsee will be seen as IT student. Kick Sham is playing a police officer and Nagababu will be seen in another important role.

As per the details given by film-makers, the film totally has eight huge fights, which remain as highlight of the film and has seven songs. Four songs are shot in exotic foreign locales and a couple of songs in lavishly designed sets at Annapurna and Ramanaidu Studios. The remaining song is a situational number, which will be canned later. Currently, the final long schedule of the film is under progress with which, the entire shooting winds up. Veera is gearing up for its release in the month of May.
