Earlier, there was buzz that Pawan Kalyan might play the lead role in the film. However, Naga Chaitanya has okayed the film and confirmed the news. Autonagar Surya is being made with a backdrop of Vijayawada rowdyism, which is being produced by Konda Krishnam raju.
